The other day, I was battling a cold and body aches — I felt exhausted from the previous week’s work and had barely gotten any sleep. I knew I needed an extended period of rest to recover from the stress and pain. So, I took an afternoon nap, hoping to feel better afterward. However, when I woke up two hours later, I felt even more exhausted — so weak I didn’t want to get out of bed. I contemplated taking some medication, suspecting it might be malaria, but at the same time, I wanted to “faith it.”
On one hand, my mind told me I had just woken up and needed some time to feel better; on the other hand, I wasn’t feeling any improvement and just wanted relief.
So, I said a word of prayer, declaring God’s word over my body, sincerely believing for healing because I didn’t want to rely on medications. A few minutes later, I got up, still tired, but decided to go with the flow. After a while, I started feeling much better. I slept later that night and woke up the next day feeling very refreshed, then a thought came to mind — Was it my prayer that healed me, or did my body simply need some rest to restore?
Hmmmn…

I paused for a moment and thought even deeper. Would I have felt better regardless of whether I prayed just by waiting a little longer? Well, which is easier?
To believe my prayer worked and I was healed of all the pain OR to assume my body would have responded the same way because I had rested?
To believe in the supernatural and see everything as a miracle OR to rely solely on science and let nature take its course?
To believe in God OR not?
I’m here to encourage you: Trust God and chill — When you trust God, you don’t have to overthink, stress, or panic about a situation or life in general.
It’s easier to believe in God than to doubt Him — because, what do you stand to lose by believing? NOTHING. Faith costs you nothing, but it gives you everything — You literally don’t have to do anything but believe.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. — Romans 10:10 NKJV
We don’t lose for believing. If anything, our confidence in God increases — Faith in God strengthens our hearts, allowing us to recognise His presence in everything around us. Each day becomes a miracle, and even the science we often rely on is ultimately a gift from God.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning — James 1:17 NKJV
Every good thing in your life — whether tangible or intangible — comes from above. Think about it; your job, the house you live in, that car that gets you around, the wisdom you have, the peace you enjoy, the opportunities you receive, your spouse, family, friends — everything is a gift from God.
So, always give God the credit. Acknowledge Him as the source of every good thing in your life.
Your experience may not be one of physical weakness like mine, it could be something else. Maybe it was the exam you studied for and passed, or the job you secured after acing an interview. But have you considered that even your ability to remember what you studied was a miracle? And that it wasn’t just your impressive CV or Queen’s English that got you the job, but God? Yes! Because the devil could have easily taken advantage of that same situation.

Anything with a good outcome had a negative alternative, yet, through God’s Grace, the good prevailed. All good things come from God — Think about the times you arrived at the bus stop just as the bus showed up, or when you made it home right before a heavy downpour. Maybe it was when you attended service and the Pastor just happened to speak about something that directly relates to your situation, and you got answers and clarity.
You don’t have to overanalyse it — Who did it??? (Jesus, Oh My God! Wow!) Yes, God did it!
It is a posture of humility and gratitude when we see all our healings, breakthroughs, successes, opportunities, friends, families, communities, career, and our very existence as an extension of His Grace. Let Him take the Glory for every good thing in your life.
With God, you don’t have to dwell on the “shoulda, woulda, coulda.” There’s no need to rethink alternatives — Don’t be so surprised it all worked out well; just be grateful that it did.
Believe that He has already handled the situation way ahead of you; trust that he made that deal happen, that He will sort out your finances, and that you are not experiencing delays without purpose. Even when it doesn’t look like it, He is with you.
With God, all things are possible!
I like to say that nothing is too big for God to handle, and nothing is too small that He would ignore. God cares about you; He is so mindful of you —
He said in His word that His thoughts towards you are thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11)
He said he wishes above all things that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers (3 John 2)
He said He has engraved you on the palm of His hands and your walls are continually before Him (Isaiah 49:16)
He has blessed you with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3)
He said your life is hid with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3)
He said He is your shield and your exceedingly great reward (Genesis 15:1)
He is the Lord who heals you (Exodus 15:26)
He said He is with you always even till the end of the age (Matthew 28:20)
He said if you ask anything in His name, He will do it (John 14:14)
He said He will wipe away every tear from your eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain… (Revelation 21:4)
He said be strong and be of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid… He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 21:6)
These and many more are God’s promises to us in His word, so I encourage you with this scripture:
Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ. — Philippians 4:6–7 TPT
I wrote all these to say, TRUST GOD AND CHILL.
God bless your heart.
