In today’s teaching on “The Holy Spirit, Catalyst for Understanding”, Pastor Dami emphasized that, true understanding of God’s Word comes not just by hearing it once but by continuously abiding in it (John 8:31–32). It is the Holy Spirit who grants real understanding, not human effort or intellect (Job 32:8). Prayer can be more impactful than physical presence, and yielding to the flesh leads to spiritual downfall.
Understanding breaks the yoke of bondage (Isaiah 10:27) and lifts believers into freedom. Without understanding, true hearing hasn’t occurred (John 8:4). Familiarity with Jesus does not equal revelation of who He truly is (Matthew 16:13, Daniel 7:13). It is on the rock of revelation that Christ builds His Church.
A person rooted in their God-given identity is unbeatable. Opportunities (“doors”) respond not to age, status, or stature, but to those who hold the right spiritual “keys.” (Matthew 13:14).
The greatest gift God can grant is understanding, which leads to true transformation. Even powerful figures like kings and priests may lack what God has given His people (1 Timothy 4).
Self-reflection is crucial: “Who do men say you are? Who do you say you are?” Psalm 119:18 encourages us to pray, “Lord, enlighten the eyes of my understanding.” Believers are also called to fast while praying this prayer, seeking deeper revelation.
