Prophetic Gestations.

Historical and present data sparkles with amazing insights into how meticulously detailed and distinctly wonderful God has designed the destiny of His Called out ones, every of your step, ways, path, and journey has been carefully orchestrated by God from start to finish.

Before the birthing of anything, there is usually the gestation period, where the miracle of a living thing is kept in the unseen realm. When God got ready to create the universe (Gen 1:1–3), He didn’t just say “light be” there was a gestation period of the spirit brooding over the face of the waters in the thick of darkness and chaos. God started not by speaking but by brooding, the word brood in the original text is the word “gestate”, hatching over what is to come, there are some things that are so significant that God first brood over them.

There is a work that is done in the dark that precedes the light, so when you get to a dark place, you don’t think God has abandoned you or point fingers at supposed enemies. He doesn’t start out in the light where people can see but in the dark, He gestate that miracle out of the womb of chaos and darkness to birth to light something magnificent in your life.

Let’s take a case study of Joseph as we read few verses from Gen 37:19–23

“Then they said to one another, “Look, this dreamer is coming!

Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, “Some wild beast has devoured him.’ We shall see what will become of his dreams!”

But Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands, and said, “Let us not kill him.”

And Reuben said to them, “Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit which is in the wilderness, and do not lay a hand on him” — that he might deliver him out of their hands, and bring him back to his father.

So it came to pass, when Joseph had come to his brothers, that they stripped Joseph of his tunic, the tunic of many colors that was on him.”

There is a prophecy over your life, and situations around you are saying “Let’s see what will be of his dreams”

Joseph is in fact a shadow of Jesus. A shadow usually exist from an object standing in light so wherever there is light and an object interrupts it, it cast a shadow, so when you look at Joseph, Jesus is standing in the light and Joseph is but a shadow…the schoolmaster of the old testament is dropping hints and glimpses about Jesus, he has not yet been revealed but we can see previews of what it is to come. The whole Blessing on Joseph was for the very people that hated Him, the anointing upon the Christ was for the very people who despised and crucified Him (John 1:12)

God will give it (The Blessing) to you if He can get out through you. Joseph was a prince in the womb, a prince in the pit, a prince in a dark place but He was still a prince. You can be something right now that your situation doesn’t even reflect. When there is a prophecy over your life, God will protect you even in your dark places. Stay on the ride even when it gets bumpy, you don’t have to look cute on the ride but just stay there.

There are seasons in your life when your conditions do not reflect your prophecy. I know something for a fact, a woman doesn’t look good in labour, or have you seen a woman in the labour room with acrylic polished nails, or have her face made up with Mary kay and pro concealer, red lipstick, false lashes and mascara? A thousand times No, the birthing of anything doesn’t look cute and pretty, that’s why your situations don’t look good but there is a light that is about to break forth.

The problem is that many think when God speaks a word over you through His Word, through someone, you think by the time you close your eyes and open it, it’s right there, not quite. God is hovering over you, moving you like a Chessboard from place to place, getting you ready for the next dimension, everything that has happened to you, or that is happening to you good or bad is pushing you closer and closer into your destiny, I’m not guessing it, I’m not joking about it. All things in the Greek means, all things are galvanizing themselves for your good.

Going through a crisis- good

Had a heartbreak- good

Lost a job- good

Don’t know when the opportunity will come- good

“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” – Num.23.19 (ALL)

The gestation of a prophecy and pregnancy from conception to delivery comes in trimesters defined by Webster as “any of three periods approximately three months each into which a human pregnancy is divided” for Joseph, the pit was the first trimester, Potiphar’s house was his second trimester, the prison was his third trimester, and for every trimester, the baby gets into a more advanced stage.

My friend reading this, you might just be in your third trimester of the prophetic word over your life, this is not the time to abort the destiny on your inside, at every trimester, you are developed more than you were before, it was in Potiphar’s house God developed leadership abilities in Joseph, for what God is set to do, he will let you practice in situations and circumstances that bring out the gold in you, Job said

“But He knows the way that I take [He has concern for it, appreciates, and pays attention to it]. When He has tried me, I shall come forth as refined gold [pure and luminous].” — Job.23.10 (AMP)

Joseph in his second trimester, God develops his managerial abilities, he Joseph was in charge of everything in Potiphar’s house controlling budgets and expenses, inflows and outflows, he came to Potiphar’s house a slave, who makes a slave an accountant? In the prison, he was made the head of the other prisoners: heard of an inmate who is also the warden?

Look back at your experiences and you can praise God and say “it was good I went through this season” There is a common term that came into the corporate space a few years ago called “disruption” whenever God wants to move you forward and higher, he causes a disruption, so you wouldn’t settle for less, so stop crying about the disruption, it’s for your promotion.

Potiphar’s wife created a disruption. Every door that was closed against you was supposed to be closed, everyone that walked out of your life was supposed to leave, everything that went wrong was supposed to go wrong, God doesn’t want you to get stuck and settle for the bearest minimum when the best has been kept for you before the foundations of the earth were laid. Contractions are disruptions, disruptions are contractions and it’s a sign that your ‘baby’ is about to be born.

As you go into the week, know of a certainty that the prophecy over your life is so strong that God is mounting a garrison over it to bring it to pass, His watching over His Word to perform it, you are about to birth what was written about you in the annals of glory. What God has for you is for you, Joseph lived the rest of his life in the fullness of what he was destined to be, so will you and I.

What should I be doing?

“Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.” — Hos.10.12

Break up every fallow ground that will hinder the free flow of the prophetic Word over your life, the exponential harvest is so near.

“And we have the prophetic word [made] firmer still. You will do well to pay close attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dismal (squalid and dark) place, until the day breaks through [the gloom] and the Morning Star rises (comes into being) in your hearts.” — 2Pet.1.19 (AMP)
