What an enlightening word we received today. Pst Dami Oguntunde started from 2 Cor 4:18 where he taught on why believers should see beyond temporal things. We should see eternal things knowing that the world is framed by the word of God (Heb 12:1-3; Heb 11:3; Rev 19:13; Heb 1:1-3). As believers, do not be sense-driven but ensure the word of God is enough persuasion. So together with studying God’s word, meditation is key. Doing this ensures that faith rises in our hearts as believers.
Using the case of Elisha and his servant (2 Kings 6: 8-17). We saw how important it is to see with our spiritual eyes, knowing fully well the spiritual controls the physical. Sight is really important because faith rises to the level of your revelation.
Another case is that of Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1: 11-12; Numbers 17:6-8. We also saw how God spoke to Jeremiah by setting a picture for him to see. So, believers should meditate to the point a picture comes up in your spirit. The word of God must become sight and sound to you. Hearing is not enough.
Finally, understand what you have in God. In Hebrews 12:22-24, we see that we have:
- Mount Zion
- City of the Living God
- Heavenly Jerusalem
- Innumerable company of angels
- General Assembly and church of the firstborn
- And to God the judge of all
- Spirit of just men man’s perfect.
