Today’s message titled The Stronger Hold II in The Shield Series was refreshing and enlightening.
Pastor Yinka hammered on the fact that fear from the devil is hinged on three things: the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life( Luke 4:1-12; 1 John 2:16). When the devil finds some of these lurking within you, then he will have a stronghold of you putting his fear in you. This then points to the fact that when the devil comes with fear, let him find nothing in you just like he found nothing in Jesus(John 14:30). Rather, the word of God was found dwelling in Him.
Two things we can do to ensure we don’t allow fear from the devil overwhelm us:
- To fear God
- Have peace with God.
To fear God:
- Walk in His ways
- Accept His love
- Submit and serve Him
- Pray unto God
- Think on His names.
When we allow these to be our focal points, then the devil will find nothing in us when he comes with fear.
