In today’s sermon, Pastor Dami started off with an exegesis of Proverbs chapter 7 where he explained the story of the prostitute and the naive young man passing through. He explained that the perception of one’s strength without the reliance on God is what gets strong men killed.
Materialism is not a display of wealth rather it is the insatiable and obsessive need to compensate for an internal deficiency with physical goods.
A solution to materialism is contentment and it is not contentment in things rather it is contentment in God because no matter the situation we find ourselves, God is our irreducible minimum and he is the most at the same time.
Towards the close of service, Pastor shared some assessment questions that will help to expose our tendencies to be Lot or Abraham.
Finally, the Holy Spirit is the blessing and every time we violate him by the actions outlined in Ephesians 4:30, the Holy Spirit is grieved and cannot operate in our lives.
